How to Sell Rap Beats

There are so many people selling beats on the internet it's almost unbelievable. Most people can't wrap their head around it even if it I told them. I've written this article to teach all those music producers out there how to make serious money selling beats, FREE! I'll explain exactly how I did it :).


Let's face the facts... If you're a music producer and you're trying to sell beats online then you're in luck. There are more beat makers coming up than at any other point in history. Using the internet as a venue, we producers can really flip the tables and take control of our happiness by working a job we love... Making music!


What I did to make my first few thousand selling beats online is...


I promoted a sale on Exclusive Rights to any of my beats. I promoted using MySpace and Soundclick together.


I dropped my prices to $50 per beat, Exclusive Rights. I also mentioned that you could get 5 beats for $200. I promoted using simple MySpace techniques, linking it with Soundclick.


In other words, I promoted my Soundclick account using MySpace and my sales started to really fly. I would see 10,000 plays or more per day using those free methods of promotion!


I sold a few of those $200 package deals and carefully saved up about $1,000. While I was waiting for the sales to come in, I planned and plotted my attack for a brand new company.


Within a few months I had a collection of about 40 beats stacked up, all unreleased and ready to go. When I started promoting I used many methods all together.


Instead of limiting my company to a single type of beat, I got 3 of the best producers I could find to join in by posting beats on the site as well. I kept 20% of their sales in return for the shelf space and management. My music library was getting to be really epic!


The first month of our launch the company made more than $4,000! Every producer on the whole team got paid and we couldn't be happier with our success. Our brand name was building and we were establishing ourselves on the internet. I still make a full time income every month from my Soundclick site.
